It all began with a bauble...

Before there was Gilded Bee...

there were two friends who met when they moved into the same street. Emily Stone and Vicky Thomson bonded over a love of interiors and a desire to create stylish spaces in their Hertfordshire homes.

Then Emily made some personalised baubles for her family Christmas tree, and after a quick conversation with a local shop, she found herself selling them. With her background in sales and marketing, it only took a few Facebook posts before Emily was approached by a business to make a large volume of baubles for their key clients.

In a flash of inspiration, Emily asked Vicky, a retail expert, for her advice. Bringing together their shared eye for detail and passion for design, plus decades of business experience between them, Gilded Bee was born.

Gilded Bee's Not Just For Christmas

We've been working with independent makers and designers to choose expertly crafted pieces that we've truly fallen in love with. Plus we have our own exclusive in-house collection, inspired by nature and our stunning surroundings in Tring, Hertfordshire, where it all began.

'When I give a gift, I want to give something different, something exciting. I'd like to think that everything in our collection is something people will hang on to. We're not going for mass-produced stuff, we're particularly passionate about working with British owner/makers. The only trouble we've had when selecting products is when we get samples, we both want to keep them!' Emily

Emily has always been passionate about design and interiors. But it was through her business development work in the HR industry that she gained insight into how to motivate people in the workplace. At Gilded Bee, Emily uses this experience to create stylish gift solutions that support your brand and make your people feel valued. Emily's own artwork and designs are featured in Gilded Bee's in-house collection.

Vicky

Vicky spent 15 years in a retail career that started in the prestigious Asprey store in New York. This gave a grounding and appreciation for the level of skill and craftsmanship required to create and present pieces for a luxury market. An ethos that continued with 10 years in a British department store buying office.

Vicky managed and built ranges from international premium & luxury brands across a number of categories including beauty and accessories. This passion and understanding starts with the product but ultimately is extented to every part of a piece’s presentation and the service Gilded Bee provides.
