Nurturing Wellbeing: A Gilded Bee Celebration Of World Mental Health Day

Happy World Mental Health Day! In a world where stress and its impact are increasingly prevalent, taking a moment to prioritise mental wellbeing is more crucial than ever. According to IPSOS, a staggering 39% of people have had to take time off work due to stress in the past year, and 18% have had to do so on multiple occasions. Women, in particular, bear a significant burden, with 36% reporting that stress has impacted their daily lives or made them feel they couldn't cope, compared to 26% of men.

At Gilded Bee, the conversation about mental health and wellbeing is not just important - it's fundamental to everything we do. As we observe World Mental Health Day today, we want to shine a light on the NHS's 5 steps to mental wellbeing, principles that we not only embrace in our own lives but also weave into the fabric of the gifts we create.

Five Steps To Mental Wellbeing

1. Connect with others

Building and nurturing positive relationships are paramount. At Gilded Bee, we're inspired by Mind's "If this speaks to you, speak to us" campaign. Take some time today and everyday for a cuppa and a chat, sharing positive experiences and providing emotional support can work wonders.

2. Be physically active

Exercise is not just for physical health, it's a mood booster too. As Joe Wicks says, "You'll never regret a workout." Find an activity you enjoy and make it a part of your life. It's a fantastic way to raise self-esteem, achieve goals and induce chemical changes in the brain that enhance mood.

3. Learn new skills

Learning doesn't have to be a monumental task. Whether it's trying a new recipe, taking on a new responsibility or tackling a DIY project, learning boosts confidence, gives purpose and fosters new connections.

4. Give to others

Kindness has the power to create a 'helper's high.' At Gilded Bee, kindness is a cornerstone. Whether supporting local charities or partnering with ethical brands, we believe in the positive impact of giving. Extend a helping hand or ask someone how they are today, and watch the positive feelings ripple.

5. Mindfulness

Being present is a superpower. Our 'A Moment to Yourself' wellbeing corporate gifts are designed to encourage mindfulness with candles, a Pause journal and bone china tea mugs. Embrace the present moment - it's where true joy resides.
